What’s changing?

Once the Coronavirus pandemic is under control, a number of Governments have committed to align the rebuilding of their economies with their longterm climate change goals. This is a major change. With Joe Biden’s election win turning the US climate policy on its head, many of the world’s major players now seem to be on board.

Therefore, there should now be some centralised funding to support ‘socially responsible’ schemes around the world. This is something that has previously been very lacking.

We have all seen how companies like Netflix and Zoom have benefitted from the pandemic in the short term. However, in the longer term, we may well see a fundamental shift in investment attitudes. We look at how companies have responded to the pandemic. Also, how the way they make their money aligns with social and environmental policies.

Responsible Investing

To ensure a company meets the criteria for ‘Responsible Investing’, there are a number of factors to consider. These are usually grouped under three main headings;  ‘Environmental’, ‘Social’ and Governance’, or ‘ESG’ for short.

Average Household

The impact of lockdown, cancelled holidays and a curtailed social life meant that the average household in the UK saved £7,000 last year. Have you found yourself in a similar position?
